Raising the minimum standard

Fairfield is a member of the New Zealand Green Building Council - NZGBC,  a non-profit organisation that promotes better buildings, because better buildings mean healthier, happier people.

Together with the NZGBC we are pushing for improvements to our Building Code, raising the minimum standards for new buildings to be more climate-friendly.

A green building is one that is designed, built, and operated in ways that reduce or removes any negative impact on the environment and the people using it. Green buildings make more efficient use of resources such as energy and water and provide healthier environments for people to live and work in. It can also reduce construction and operation costs.
