Dryden Bay Bach

Turning this typical kiwi bach in need of a ‘little TLC’ into an exceptional holiday home where multiple generations can enjoy their summer holidays together, was the brief for local architect Jarrod Midgley of RWA.

Not a lot of the old bach remains but what we have now is a sleek building inside and out that fits it purpose of catering to comfort and functionality. Open living areas to relax and well thought out service areas to wash down after a day out fishing or store all the toys for a day out on the water.

The exterior is Shadowclad board and batten with Aluminium Joinery from Design Windows in Nelson. Large hardwood deck areas allowing plenty of room to relax. The interior is classy but low maintenance while it is easy to tell with the amazing light fittings, that it is built for the family of a local electrician.
